Bernice Lee loves playing many roles as a dance artist. She recently started working closely with Maya Dance Theatre, touring in works by artists including Janis Brenner (USA) and Dr. Sun Ock Lee (Korea), and her solo “I Am The Strongest Shape In The World”. In July 2014 she performed in “Retrospective” by Xavier Le Roy at 72-13 Theatreworks. She worked at Frontier Danceland on Byron Perry’s “One Show Only” (Australia), before joining as company artist from 2012-2014 where she created and performed roles internationally in works by guests, company artists and artistic director Low Mei Yoke. Her creations include “Tales Tales Tails” (2013 with Shahrin Johry), “Living National Creatures” (2013), and “Nine Dancing Together” (2011). She works with Strangeweather Movement Group in improvisational and cross-disciplinary work. Supported by National Arts Council and Singapore International Foundation, Bernice initiated “Let Me Be” with Olivier Tarpaga (USA/Burkina Faso). An NAC Bursary recipient, Bernice graduated from The Ohio State University in 2010. This is her first time collaborating with Kai. It is very fun, which perhaps makes it indulgent.
